Jeremy

Jeremy was Cohome’s very first resident. We asked him what he has learned since he moved in. “Anything is possible. Living here has made me feel more important. It is better than living with my mom, and I love living here.”
Simon & Cheri

Cheri is a Cohome parent-advocate. She says “And being here gives him the opportunity to take the lead himself and not be looking to me to be that lead all the time, which is what any young adult is going to learn when they go off to college or leave their parents home.” In Simon’s words, “I love living here and hanging out with my people.“

In 2021, Hannah joined Cohome. We asked her how moving into Cohome has impacted her life. “I have become more independent. By taking care of my own responsibilities and being aware of my surroundings.”

Jane is a Cohome Fellow. "I'm really grateful for the time I spend with my housemates, even seeing them in the kitchen in the morning - it always lowers my blood pressure and fills my cup. I just love Cohome; I mean, I’ve extended my stay. I’ve been here for over three years -it really does feel like a family. You kind of stop seeing the disability after a while and just see the whole person, and I think I’ve learned to be a better advocate by presenting this new paradigm."
